Welcome to my little piece of internet real estate to bring you information about real estate throughout Whatcom County, Washington, including Bellingham, Birch Bay, Birch Bay Village, Blaine, Custer, Ferndale, Lynden, Sumas and Semiahmoo.
As a long time Whatcom County resident living in Birch Bay, many of you already know me. I have been specializing in Whatcom County real estate for over 14 years.
Whatcom County has a population of 166,800, consists of 2,126 square miles and is located in the northwest corner of Washington State overlooking Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands. The largest city and county seat is Bellingham. The other major towns are Ferndale, Lynden, and Blaine.
Elevation ranges from sea level to a high of 10,788 at Mt. Baker. The eastern portion consists of the Mt. Baker Wilderness area and a portion of the North Cascades National Park. This section is mainly rugged mountainous area. The Mt. Baker Ski area is considered one of the best in the Northwest.
Whatcom County has an annual precipitation average of 35 inches, 8.5 days of snowfall, and around 6 days below freezing.
