Blaine, Washington is a community in the fourth corner of the Pacific Northwest.
Blaine, Washington, population 4,650, is
Whatcom County's most northwesterly town and the busiest border crossing point between British Columbia, Canada and the State of Washington.
A little more than a half hour from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Blaine is also less than two hours from Seattle. The splendor of Mt. Baker and the North Cascades Mountains to the east, presents a majestic contrast to Semiahmoo Bay and the Straight of Georgia to the west.
Peace Arch State Park on the US/Canadian border is a monument symbolizing nearly two centuries of peace between the countries. Every year the park features, "Hands Across the Border" ceremony, celebrating peace between the two countries. Throughout the summer, the park exhibits sculptures by international artists.
Blaine is also home to the Historic Washington Foot Passenger Ferry,
The MV Plover, which takes tourists across the bay (Memorial Day through Labor Day) to the Semiahmoo spit, and the
Semiahmoo Resort, a world-class resort community featuring an Arnold Palmer designed championship golf course.
The Blaine real estate market has been relatively strong for quite some time. Commercial establishments like Cost Cutter, Burger King, BlockBuster Video, Rite Aid and Subway have located in Blaine, WA.
